About the Role

The Sales Ledger Assistant is responsible for managing Accounts Receivable and maintaining strong working relationships with customers across multiple international markets. The role is key to the success of the business through ensuring strong cashflows and being a key part of the financial control framework. 

This is a hands-on role covering the full credit control process from allocating receipts to managing customer accounts, reconciling ledgers, and ensuring timely collection of payments. You’ll work across several currencies and support both UK and overseas entities to keep debtor balances accurate and cash flow healthy across 40+ global markets. 

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable & Credit Control

  • Manage credit control for the UK and international subsidiaries (United States, Japan etc).

  • Process and allocate customer receipts promptly and accurately.

  • Perform daily multi-currency bank reconciliations.

  • Maintain responsibility for debtor days KPI and debtor budget targets.

  • Produce weekly and monthly debtor reports.

  • Set and monitor credit limits for customers, implementing and help shape group policy, with the support of central finance. 

Reconciliations & Reporting

  • Complete sales ledger account reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations for group companies.

  • Perform regular reconciliations to ensure ledgers are accurate and up to date.

  • Support month-end processes as part of the Finance team.

Customer Queries & Support

  • Act as the main point of contact for customer payment and account queries.

  • Build effective relationships with global bike stores and distributors.

  • Liaise with internal departments to resolve any issues promptly.

General Duties

  • Assist with local banking requirements.

  • Support ad-hoc finance tasks as required and remain flexible to business needs.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Credit Control role.

  • Experience with ERP systems, (Oracle / Infor are preferred but not required)

  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience working in a multi-currency environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Highly organised, able to prioritise work and meet deadlines.

  • Proactive and adaptable, with a flexible approach to work.

You’re organised, methodical, and confident managing customer accounts. You build relationships easily, communicate clearly, and take pride in keeping ledgers accurate and up to date. You enjoy working in a busy, international environment and take ownership of getting results.
