The Role
The Commercial Financial Analyst role is a key bridge between the accounting team, and the commercial elements of the business. It plays a key part in supporting the commercial activities of an international and omni channel business.
The position focuses on partnering with regional and channel leaders to provide clear, data-driven insight that supports revenue growth, margin optimisation, and improved decision-making. The role has a strong outward-facing component, working closely with stakeholders across multiple geographies and business units.
This is an opportunity designed for someone looking to build strong commercial finance and business partnering skills. The role offers broad exposure to global operations, diverse markets, and multiple sales channels (wholesale, retail, and e-commerce).
The Person
We are looking for a commercially minded and analytically strong Financial Analyst to join our business.
You are naturally curious, detail-oriented, and eager to understand how numbers translate into commercial decisions. Comfortable working across regions and functions, you enjoy partnering with stakeholders and helping them turn data into actionable insight. This is a role ideal for someone with solid financial foundations who is ready to deepen their commercial exposure in a global environment.
You thrive in a collaborative setting, communicate clearly with non-finance colleagues, and are motivated by improving processes and data quality to enable better decision-making.
Main Duties
Prepare commercial P&Ls to understand performance in each market and channel, drawing data from a broad range of systems to create one source of truth for commercial profitability.
Partner with regional and channel leads (e.g., wholesale, retail, e-commerce) to help them understand their performance, provide financial analysis and commercial support, building from your own understanding of our systems and numbers.
Support monthly performance reporting, including revenue, margin, and cost analysis across global markets
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes
Provide variance analysis and identify key commercial drivers behind performance
Improve data flow between regions, business units to enhance accuracy and transparency
Support pricing, promotional, and margin analysis across product categories and markets
Work closely with FP&A, Supply Chain, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure alignment of financial data
Contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency, standardisation, and reporting consistency
Assist with ad hoc analysis to support strategic initiatives and leadership requests
2–4 years of experience in finance, FP&A, or commercial finance (shared services experience advantageous)
Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret large datasets and extract meaningful insights
Solid understanding of P&L drivers, margin analysis, and commercial performance metrics
Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems and reporting tools
Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders
High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a global, matrixed environment
Working toward or recently qualified in a professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA/CPA) preferred
What Success in the Role Looks Like
Regional and channel leaders actively rely on you for timely, clear, and commercially relevant financial insight
Reporting is accurate, streamlined, and consistently delivered on time
Data flows between systems and teams are improved, reducing manual intervention and errors
You can clearly explain performance trends, margin movements, and key business drivers
Forecasts become more accurate due to strong analysis and effective business partnering
You identify opportunities for margin improvement, cost optimisation, or revenue growth and proactively highlight them
Stakeholders see finance as a value-adding partner rather than just a reporting function
You build strong cross-functional relationships across regions and channels within the global bicycle business
