About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer (Freelance) to help design and implement embedded dashboards within our client’s core application. At present, data is synchronized from the application into an embedded BI tool (Luzmo), and the dashboard is displayed directly inside the platform through an integrated component. However, both the data architecture and overall solution require rethinking and optimization to better serve customer needs.
You will take ownership of the technical design of an improved dashboard solution, working closely with one of the client’s software engineers to implement/integrate it.
The Key Responsibilities
Designing end-to-end data architecture for dashboard analytics
Building and optimizing data pipelines on GCP
Designing structured data models for reporting and engagement tracking
Improving or redesigning the dashboard integration within a React-based application
Syncing application data into the BI/dashboarding layer
Evaluating current tooling and proposing better architectural alternatives if needed
Collaborating closely with frontend/backend engineers to ensure clean integration
Translating business reporting needs into scalable technical solutions
The engagement is expected to last approximately three months, with the internal team taking over maintenance afterward.
Strong experience with GCP and solid data engineering fundamentals.
Advanced SQL skills and experience building production-grade data pipelines.
Experience with modern dashboarding or embedded analytics tools (e.g., Looker, Power BI, Tableau; willingness to learn Luzmo if required).
Proven experience integrating dashboards or analytics components into software applications and collaborating with frontend/backend engineers.
Comfortable writing code in TypeScript and having prior experience working with React.
Software engineering background transitioning into data engineering with strong coding and analytical mindset is an advantage.
Ability to independently design architecture solutions with focus on scalability, maintainability, and platform ownership
Comfortable working in a remote, freelance, outcome-driven engagement.
