About the Role
We are looking for an Azure Monitoring & DevOps Specialist to set up comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and CI/CD automation for our production Azure environment. The specialist will work semi-autonomously with async handoffs to the Dutch team and be responsible for,
Azure Monitoring & Observability
• Azure Monitor, Log Analytics workspaces, Application Insights
• Alert rules, action groups, and escalation configuration
• Azure Workbooks for visualization and reporting
• Cost monitoring and anomaly detection
Azure Services Experience
• Azure Data Factory – pipeline monitoring, failure alerts, activity runs
• Cosmos DB – throughput metrics, latency, 429 throttling errors
• Azure API Management – request metrics, error rates, latency
• Microsoft Fabric / Synapse – workspace monitoring, query performance
• Azure Container Apps / Functions (if applicable)
SQL & Database Skills
• T-SQL proficiency – stored procedures, performance tuning
• Azure SQL / SQL Server monitoring and diagnostics
• Query performance analysis, execution plans, index optimization
• Fabric Warehouse / Lakehouse SQL endpoints
• Data type handling (datetime vs datetime2 compatibility)
CI/CD & Infrastructure as Code
• Azure DevOps Pipelines (YAML) or GitHub Actions
• ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform for Azure resources
• Git version control, branching strategies
• Automated deployment of monitoring resources and alerts
• ADF pipeline deployment automation
Nice to Have
• Grafana integration with Azure Monitor
• Power Automate for alert workflows
• Experience with bc2adls or Business Central APIs
• Python scripting for automation
• KQL (Kusto Query Language) for custom queries and dashboards
Professional Skills
• Strong written communication in English (async collaboration)
• Self-directed work style with minimal supervision
• Documentation skills – runbooks, escalation procedures, architecture diagrams
