About the role
We are seeking a Financial Controller to help build a world-class finance function that enables growth, precision, and automation. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will take ownership of financial control, reporting, and accounting - while also helping design and implement new systems and processes to scale a multi-entity international SaaS business.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Reporting
● Lead month-end close, and management reporting across all entities (NL, UK, DE).
● Deliver accurate, timely financial results by WD10 each month.
● Support audit preparation and ensure compliance with local GAAP requirements.
● Implement consistent accounting policies and internal controls across the group.
2. Systems, Process, and Automation
● Identify and automate manual finance processes (billing, reconciliations, reporting) using internal tools (e.g., Replit apps) and integrations.
● Support the CFO in the selection and implementation of an AI-native ERP system.
● Own data accuracy and reconciliation between Finance, CRM (Salesforce), and operational systems.
3. Financial Operations
● Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense management.
● Lead cashflow forecasting, working capital tracking, and AR collections.
● Partner with the COO and CFO to improve order-to-cash and invoicing automation.
● Maintain intercompany balances and coordinate group accounting entries.
4. Governance and Compliance
● Maintain a robust internal control environment and Finance governance framework.
● Support the establishment of audit-ready accounts across all legal entities.
● Ensure compliance with tax filings, VAT, and other statutory obligations (with external support).
5. Business Partnership & Insight
● Collaborate with Finance, Sales, and Customer Success to support forecasting and revenue analysis.
● Provide insights on customer profitability, pricing, and financial performance.
● Contribute to building dashboards and data-driven reports in collaboration with the CFO and RevOps teams.
Experience
● 5–8+ years’ experience in accounting, controlling, or financial management.
● Experience in SaaS, technology, or international multi-entity businesses strongly preferred.
● Background in audit, scale-up finance, or PE-backed environments is a plus.
Skills
● Understanding of consolidation, and intercompany processes is a plus.
● Strong systems mindset
● Proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (PowerBI a big plus).
● Experience automating workflows or leveraging APIs/integrations is a strong advantage.
● Fluent in English (Dutch proficiency a plus).
