The Role
Our client is looking for a mid-senior level backend-leaning developer to help build out and extend their internal value creation platform. The work centers on backend logic, data architecture, and integrations - with simple, functional React frontends. This starts as a part-time engagement and is expected to ramp to full-time as the working rhythm is established, with strong potential to become a long-term, ongoing engagement (multiple dashboards, agent workflows, and platform features planned).

About the platform
The platform is a value creation portal that enables investment teams and portfolio-company management to manage value creation activities, including company profiles, valuations, fund reporting, transformation initiatives, stage-gate governance, KPI planning, questionnaires, playbooks, and task boards.

The platform is built entirely in TypeScript, with a React SPA on the frontend and an Express API on the backend. It uses Microsoft Dataverse as the primary datastore, SharePoint for document management, and Power BI for KPI data and reporting.

Requirements

What You'll Do
• Build and extend backend logic, APIs, and data models in Microsoft Dataverse Knowledge of full-stack TypeScript: Express services on the backend, React on the front end
• Extend the existing React SPA, dashboards, forms, tables, and reporting views on top of the current component library
• Work across the Microsoft stack: Entra ID authentication and token flows, Microsoft Graph, SharePoint document libraries, and the Power BI to Dataverse KPI sync
• Manage Dataverse schema changes in the Power Platform Maker Portal and ship them through the solution pipeline
• Uphold the security model, role-based permissions, audit logging, fail-closed defaults
• Drive work through AI coding agents (Replit): scope the task, direct the agent, review the output, verify it
• Collaborate directly with a small technical team (investment associate, AI lead, CTO) in a fast-iteration environment

What We're Looking For
• Strong TypeScript across backend and React front end Solid backend experience with TypeScript on Node.js / Express: API design, auth middleware, integrations
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dataverse / Power Platform
• Experience with Azure (authentication)
• Comfortable building and extending React / TypeScript front ends
• Disciplined about scope, documentation, and a clear definition of done (typecheck + build + tests pass)
• Strong familiarity with AI-assisted/agentic coding tools and workflows
• Available part-time initially, with flexibility to scale to full-time

This is a 3-4 month engagement, starting part-time with the potential to transition into a full-time role based on project needs and mutual fit.
