The role

We are looking for an Accounting Platform Consultant who wants to use their accounting knowledge in a new way — not only applying it, but also designing, improving, and automating it.

In this role you will work at the intersection of:

• Accounting & compilation/accounting practice

• Consultancy & financial transformation of high-transaction-volume organizations

• IT, data, and platform development

This is not a traditional assistant accountant role in accounting practice and not purely an IT or consultancy job. You will help define and implement how accounting structurally works within Actuals, both for our clients and within the platform itself.

Responsibilities

Accounting & General Ledger Design

• Design and validate chart of accounts and journal entry logic for high-volume companies.

• Translate transactional events (invoicing, payments, payouts, and transaction fees) into correct and auditable journal entries.

• Safeguard accounting principles such as:

• Double-entry bookkeeping

• Period closing

• Revenue recognition

Platform & Client Implementations (Consulting Side)

• Manage a portfolio of clients and act as an accounting advisor.

• Lead accounting-driven onboarding on our platform, ensuring reconciliation and posting logic is correct from day one.

• Analyze differences between: Order systems, Payment Service Providers (PSPs) and ERP outputs and translate them into structural solutions within our platform.

Finance Transformation & Control

• Improve order-to-cash and reconciliation processes in complex system environments.

• Contribute to internal controls, control frameworks, and month-end closing processes for clients.

• Design dashboards and insights that support faster and more reliable monthly closings.

Product Contribution

• Act as a bridge between accounting practice and the Product & Development teams.

• Work with the product team to translate recurring accounting and reconciliation challenges into platform functionality.

• Support the Sales team with accounting-related demos and client discussions.
