We are looking for a hands-on Senior Cloud Architect to lead and execute the migration of a large on‑premise platform into AWS. This role is very practical and execution‑focused: you’ll design the migration approach and also be directly involved in making it happen.

The ideal person has solid experience with AWS migrations at scale, a background working with Java‑based environments, and confidence dealing with complex systems. Strong communication, ownership, and decision‑making are key, as you’ll be responsible for the technical direction and collaborating closely with different areas throughout the project.

You will be working to explore the on‑premise platform in greater detail and solve the migration puzzle. You are given the freedom and autonomy to put your leadership skills to practice. You will also be joining a small, highly experienced team of developers with a strong combined knowledge base, especially around AWS, who can support you throughout the project. In this setup, the solutions you build are quickly adopted and have visible impact across the platform.

Must-Have Skills

Cloud Architecture

• 5+ years AWS experience with production migrations at scale

• Deep expertise in: EC2, RDS, VPC networking, ALB/NLB, Route 53, CloudFront

• Experience migrating multi-tenant architectures to AWS

• Zero-downtime migration techniques

Enterprise Java Ecosystem

• 3+ years enterprise Java development/architecture experience

• Experienced with:

  • Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data)

  • Hibernate/JPA (including complex migrations)

  • Maven

Database & Data Management

• PostgreSQL

• Database migration experience across multiple projects, including full refresh and CDC (change data capture)

• Experience with multi-tenancy database schemas

DevOps & Infrastructure Automation

• Docker and containerization strategies

• Configuration management and secrets management (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager)

Security

• CVE remediation and dependency management

• AWS security services (IAM, Security Hub, GuardDuty, WAF)

Nice-to-Have Skills

• CI/CD pipeline design and implementation (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline)

• Secrets management and credential rotation strategies

• Upgrade Java versions experience

• AWS DMS experience
