Key Skills and Qualifications:
Proficient in GAAP accounting principles and regulations and reporting requirements.
Strong command of accounting software with a proven ability to adapt to new technologies, our current clients use Exact and Twinfield.
Excellent numerical proficiency and attention to detail, ensuring precision in financial reporting and analysis.
Effective communication skills, capable of liaising with clients, colleagues, and regulatory authorities.
Strong MS Excel skills.
Organizational skills, able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Professional Experience:
Processed invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Basic understanding of VAT.
Managed accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate invoicing.
Reconciled bank statements and identified discrepancies for resolution, maintaining accurate financial records.
Experience in reconciling accounts, processing invoices.
Verified purchase orders, matched invoices with supporting documentation, and resolved discrepancies in a timely manner.
Prepared and processed weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payments
Reconciled vendor statements and resolved outstanding balances or discrepancies.
Communicated with vendors regarding payment inquiries, disputes, and payment status updates.
Assisted in month-end and year-end closing processes, providing necessary documentation and support for financial reporting.
Maintained accurate records of accounts payable transactions and ensured proper documentation for audit purposes.
Prepared monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review and regulatory compliance.
Provided financial analysis and insights to identify areas for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
Nice to haves:
Collaborated with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
Familiarity with financial statements preparation, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Assisted in budgeting and forecasting processes, analyzing financial data to support strategic planning.
Being able to identify internal control gaps and find a proper solution.
Education:
University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Mega Bonus: has passed the Examination of Licentiate or Intermediate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Sri Lanka.
Languages: Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
