The Role<\/strong>
We are seeking a Backend Developer to join our established backend team. In this role, you will be a key contributor to our core platform, which is built on a mature Django codebase. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the health of our codebase, developing new features, and helping to shape our technical direction. This is a hands-on role for a proactive engineer who thrives on solving complex problems and is eager to work with modern, AI-assisted development practices.<\/p>\n

Your Responsibilities<\/strong>
\u2022 Design, build, and maintain scalable and robust APIs and services using Python, Django, and the Django REST Framework (DRF).
\u2022 Work with our core infrastructure, including Postgres, AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker. Write high-quality, well-tested code, contributing to our healthy test coverage and culture of test-driven development (TDD).
\u2022 Actively use and champion AI-assisted coding tools to enhance productivity and code quality.
\u2022 Collaborate closely with product and other engineering teams to translate vision into technical solutions.
\u2022 Take initiative on improving our platform, with roughly 50% of your time dedicated to maintenance and non-user-facing improvements.
\u2022 Participate in architectural discussions, constructively challenging ideas and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.<\/p>\n

What You’ll Bring (Requirements)<\/strong>
\u2022 5+ years’ of experience in backend software development.
\u2022 Strong proficiency in Python with a deep understanding of its ecosystem.
\u2022 Significant hands-on experience with Django and Django REST Framework (DRF). This is a strong preference due to the size and complexity of our existing codebase.
\u2022 Solid experience with relational databases, specifically Postgres.
\u2022 Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes).
\u2022 A “startup mindset”: you are a self-starter with a bias for action, comfortable wearing multiple hats, and willing to step in to help colleagues.
\u2022 Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
\u2022 A keen interest and competency in using AI-assisted development tools is a must.<\/p>\n
