Why this role exists<\/strong><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Our finance professionals in Sri Lanka are well qualified (ACCA, CIMA,CA). What they often lack is knowledge of the Dutch way of working: the\u00a0systems, the standards and the expectations of\u00a0Dutch\u00a0accounting firms.\u00a0Right now, too many of those questions end up with our clients.<\/p>\n

The Finance Domain Expert solves that. You are the daily point of contact for the team in Colombo, you take care of on-boarding and\u00a0development, and you make sure questions about Dutch accounting practice\u00a0are answered internally. Next to that, you support the sales process as\u00a0our finance expert in client conversations<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

What you will do<\/strong><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Team support and on-boarding (the biggest part of your week)<\/strong><\/p>\n

You support finance professionals spread across client teams of 1 to 16\u00a0FTE per client. You are the first person the team turns to with\u00a0questions about Dutch accounting work, so they do not need to ask the\u00a0client how things are done in the Netherlands. You take care of the\u00a0technical on-boarding of new colleagues and coach the team on compilation\u00a0work according to Dutch standards. Where needed, you also help with\u00a0audit questions.<\/p>\n

Learning & development<\/strong><\/p>\n

You set up training on Dutch accounting practice, systems and soft\u00a0skills, and deliver it yourself. You see where knowledge is missing per\u00a0person and per client team and create development plans for it. You\u00a0actively look for ways to use AI in the daily work and approach partners\u00a0and tools for this yourself.<\/p>\n

Commercial support (20 to 40% of your time)<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n

You join discovery calls with prospects and clients. Based on your own\u00a0experience at a Dutch firm, you advise which tasks fit well with the\u00a0Gapstars team and which are better kept with the client. This makes our\u00a0story towards Dutch accounting firms stronger.<\/p>\n

Community and culture<\/strong><\/p>\n

You are in our Colombo office every day. You bring the team together,\u00a0organize knowledge sharing and work closely with our HR Business Partner\u00a0on engagement and retention.<\/p>\n

Right hand of the Business Lead<\/strong><\/p>\n

You are responsible for the operational delivery in Sri Lanka:\u00a0performance, quality and escalations. You flag risks early and support\u00a0technical assessments during recruitment.<\/p>\n

What we ask<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n

\u2022 You have worked at a Dutch accounting firm. This is a hard\u00a0requirement.
\u2022 Solid hands-on experience with compilation work\u00a0(samenstelpraktijk)
\u2022 At least 5 years of experience in finance.
\u2022 Fluency in Dutch will be a huge advantage, because you work daily with Dutch client files and systems such\u00a0as Exact, Twinfield, AFAS and Caseware.
\u2022\u00a0Good professional English as\u00a0well.
\u2022 You live in Colombo or are willing to move there, and you are in\u00a0the office every day.
\u2022 You take ownership: you build the L&D program,\u00a0drive AI adoption and approach partners without anyone having to ask.
\u2022 You enjoy coaching people and get energy from making others better.<\/p>\n

New colleagues are productive for clients faster. Questions about the\u00a0Dutch way of working are solved internally instead of with the client. A\u00a0fixed training program is running for the whole team. You contribute to\u00a0won deals in sales conversations. And the Business Lead can focus fully\u00a0on sales, because delivery in Sri Lanka runs well.<\/p>\n
