The ideal candidate should be able to keep the books clean, work independently, and improve accounting processes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>Accounting &#038; Finance Operations<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage end-to-end accounting processes, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and month-end close activities.\n<li>Book accruals, prepayments, and intercompany transactions across multiple entities.\n<li>Reconcile bank transactions, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues such as duplicate payments, incorrect entity invoices, and unmatched transactions.\n<li>Maintain clean and accurate accounting records, ensuring balance sheet and transitional accounts are reconciled and properly supported.\n<li>Request, review, and process supplier invoices while ensuring proper coding and entity allocation.\n<li>Perform regular ledger account reviews and transaction-level analysis to identify and resolve accounting issues.<\/ul>\n<p>Financial Reporting &#038; Analysis<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.\n<li>Analyze financial performance through ledger reviews, month-over-month (MoM) variance analysis, and comparison against forecasts and business expectations.\n<li>Prepare management reports with clear explanations of financial trends and significant variances.\n<li>Support consolidation processes and preparation of P&#038;L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements.\n<li>Assist with annual report preparation and statutory financial reporting requirements.<\/ul>\n<p>Tax &#038; Compliance<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare and submit VAT, OSS, and ICP filings in the Netherlands.\n<li>Support accounting and compliance reporting requirements for US entities.\n<li>Coordinate with external tax advisors and local specialists for tax registrations and compliance in new jurisdictions.\n<li>Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.<\/ul>\n<p>Process Improvement &#038; Business Support<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify and implement improvements to accounting and finance processes.\n<li>Support inventory tracking setup and maintenance.\n<li>Develop and maintain accounting controls and documentation.\n<li>Collaborate directly with the Finance Lead to improve reporting accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of finance operations.\n<li>Contribute to finance system enhancements and process automation initiatives<\/ul>\n<p>Must-Have Skills<\/p>\n<p>Accounting &#038; Finance Expertise<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5+ years of relevant accounting and finance experience.\n<li>Strong knowledge of end-to-end accounting processes (AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, and month-end close).\n<li>Experience managing accounting for multi-entity organizations.\n<li>Strong understanding of financial statements, including P&#038;L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.\n<li>Experience with accrual accounting, intercompany accounting, and reconciliations.\n<li>Knowledge of VAT, OSS, and ICP reporting requirements.\n<li>Experience preparing management reports and financial analysis.\n<li>Proven ability to independently manage finance operations with minimal supervision.\n<li>Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.\n<li>Strong financial analysis and data analysis capabilities.\n<li>Experience reviewing financials through transaction analysis, variance analysis, and forecasting comparisons.<\/ul>\n<p>Nice-to-Have Skills<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Big Four accounting firm experience.\n<li>Startup or scale-up company experience.\n<li>Experience preparing annual reports and statutory accounts.\n<li>Experience with financial consolidation processes.\n<li>Experience with international entities and cross-border finance operations.\n<li>Familiarity with both US and European accounting environments.\n<li>Experience supporting tax registrations and compliance in multiple jurisdictions.\n<li>Experience implementing accounting process improvements and automation initiatives.<\/ul>\n<p>Soft Skills<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Highly accurate and detail-oriented.\n<li>Self-starter with a proactive mindset.\n<li>Strong sense of ownership and accountability.\n<li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.\n<li>Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.\n<li>Strong organizational and time management abilities.\n<li>Effective verbal and written communication skills.\n<li>Comfortable working remotely and collaborating with distributed teams.\n<li>Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.\n<li>Professional, reliable, and results-oriented.<br \/>\t\u200b\u200b\u200b<\/ul>\n<p><em>&#8220;Gapstars is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
