We are now looking for a <\/span>Backend Software Developer (Medior)<\/span><\/strong> to join PFM Intelligence, Europe\u2019s leading independent movement\u2011data platform. PFM processes real-time footfall and occupancy data for 7,800+ locations across NL, BE, DE, and the UK, and is currently transitioning into a full Platform\u2011as\u2011a\u2011Service (PaaS) company. This role plays a key part in that evolution.<\/span><\/p>\n

The focus of this position is to build high-impact backend integrations that connect PFM\u2019s core platforms and automate critical commercial processes. This is a hands-on role where you will own meaningful technical components and contribute directly to how the platform scales.<\/span><\/p>\n

You will work closely with a senior engineer, backend developer, cloud migration specialist, and ERP application specialist in a remote-first, highly collaborative environment. Engineers make technical decisions, and you will have autonomy to design, build, and iterate on backend services that operate in production at scale.<\/span><\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/span><\/h4>

  • Develop the <\/span>bidirectional integration<\/span><\/strong> between the ERP system and PFM Toolbox, ensuring sites and devices stay fully synchronized across platforms.<\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Build the <\/span>automated subscription and invoicing engine<\/span><\/strong>, enabling the platform to generate and update subscriptions for 22,500+ devices across multiple regions and currencies.<\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Design and operate Python-based backend services using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and Step Functions.<\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Contribute to a serverless, cloud-native architecture with a strong focus on reliability, maintainability, and clear data flows.<\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure integrations are robust, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

    Must-Have Skills<\/span><\/h4>

    • 1+ years of professional experience with <\/span>Python<\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/li>

    • 3+ years of hands-on experience with <\/span>AWS<\/span><\/strong> (Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Step Functions)<\/span><\/p><\/li>

    • Experience building and operating backend services in production<\/span><\/p><\/li>

    • Strong understanding of integrations, data flow, and system consistency<\/span><\/p><\/li>

    • Experience working with <\/span>ERP systems<\/span><\/strong> (API integrations or custom modules)<\/span><\/p><\/li>

    • Familiarity with serverless architectures and REST API design<\/span><\/p><\/li>

    • Ability to work independently in a remote, async-first environment<\/span><\/p><\/li>

    • Clear communication and ownership mindset<\/span><\/p><\/li><\/ul>
